Plant Director, Carolyne Watts announced today, Thursday, September 19, that commencing Monday, September 23, both Gen V and HFV6 will be impacted by the UAW work stoppage and employees will be placed on temporary layoff until further notice.

Gen V and HFV6 employees required to come to work during this temporary layoff will be notified directly by their supervisor prior to their last shift this week.

While on temporary layoff, HFV6 and Gen V employees are required to call the GM St. Catharines Information Hotline (1-877-868-3895) each day two hours before their regularly scheduled shifts for updates regarding work stoppage and/or return to work plans.

Additionally, although GF6 employees are not currently impacted by the UAW work stoppage and required to work regularly scheduled shifts during the week of September 23, all GF6 employees will be temporarily laid off for the week of September 30 due to customer demand and in line with CAMI Assembly’s operating plan.

Employees required to work during this time will be notified directly by their supervisor.

Should the UAW work stoppage impact GF6 by extending their temporary layoff the Emergency Information Hotline (1-877-868-3895) will be updated to reflect return to work times. GF6 employees are required to call the hotline two hours before their regularly scheduled shift on October 6/7, 2019 for return to work information.
