GM DEMAND SHEETS FOR 2023 BARGAINING

2023 GM St Catharines Contract Demand Sheet

Sisters and Brothers,

As you are no doubt aware, our collective agreement with General Motors expires September 2023. Before we sit down at the bargaining table with the company, we would like to identify the bargaining priorities of our members.  We want to hear your ideas and suggestions so that we can negotiate the best possible agreement that addresses both your short and long-term concerns on the shop floor.

The Bargaining Committee would like all of our members to fill out this demand sheet (click on link below to print). Include your name and clock number so that we can contact you if we need clarification on any specific demand. Please indicate the top five bargaining demands for 2023 and add any other comments below. There will be a drop box at each clock house to deposit your demands. You can also drop them off at the Union Hall. (Please Note 🙂 The form will also be available on-line.

They must be in by Wednesday, March 8th. It is important that you know this is a confidential process and we will not share any personal information with the company.

In August, there will be a strike vote, date and location to be determined. For our new members, a strike vote does not mean we are going on strike, it simply gives the Union the authority to call a strike if negotiations break off. Both the Company and the Union want to avoid a strike and will work very hard towards negotiating an agreement. A strong strike mandate by the membership lets the company know the Bargaining Committee has your support, giving them the power necessary to negotiate the best possible agreement for you.

Thank you for your ongoing support and solidarity.

Trevor Longpre, GM Unit Chairperson
On behalf of Unifor Local 199 GM Bargaining Committee
