After two weeks of difficult negotiations, Chairperson Mike Winterbottom and his committee secured a strong contract that has been ratified by the membership at 92%. It was a privilege to work with a Committee so dedicated to the membership.
This contract sees economic gains, benefits gains, and a revamped pension program with a new bridging allowance. The new Pension Bridging Program will provide members with financial stability between the ages of 60 and 65. The New Hire Pay Grid has been reduced from 10 to 8 years, and the DC Pension Contributions have been increased for New Hires as well. Despite the Company making repeated attempts to have the committee make concessions, we would not back down.
Thank you to the Bargaining Committee for their hard work and solidarity in the face of a difficult set of negotiations.
In solidarity,
Jordan Lennox, President
