Keeping a Legacy Alive

On Sunday 26th January 2020, Unifor Local 199 entered a team of volunteers in the Walk for Memories at Brock University. The event was very well organized and went very well.   346 registered walkers did laps in the halls of Brock University, along the route sponsors handed out lots of swag and treats to the walkers. The purpose of the walk was to raise funds to help families in Niagara impacted by dementia.  Through pledges the walkers collectively raised over $130,000.

Our team who was  joined by Jeff Birch, Wayne Gates, Jenny Stevens and Malcolm Allen, raised $5,720 in pledges which was donated as a tribute to Bob White a former president of our union and the CLC.  Bob White was an inspiration to an entire generation of autoworkers.  We would like to thank the Unifor Team members and everyone who made a pledge helping us keep Bob Whites legacy of a fair and equitable Canada alive.
