Counselling Benefits
Our benefits for active members are as follows.
Counselling provided by a Registered Clinical Psychologist, MSW/RSW (Master of Social Work/Registered Social Worker), or Master of Psychology will be reimbursed at a rate of $50.00 per visit for a maximum of $625.00 per calendar year (January 1st to December 31st). Most counselling services are more than $50.00 a visit so the surcharge will be paid by the client at the time of the appointment. Please bring your Greenshield card.
Psychological Assessment Benefit. A psychological assessment performed by a registered clinical psychologist may be reimbursed once in a lifetime for eligible dependent children under the age of 14, to a maximum of $500. Any amounts claimed for psychological assessments will be included in the annual psychological services maximum set out above for the year in which it is claimed. Reimbursement is provided only for counselling and a one-time psychological assessment, and is not intended to cover the cost of any forms, reports other than psychological assessment, or follow up correspondence.

Understanding Stress
Modern life is full of stress, hassles, frustrations, and demands. For many people, stress is so commonplace that it has become a way of life. Stress isn’t always bad; in fact in small doses, it can help you perform under pressure and motivate you to do your best. But when you are constantly running in stress mode, your mind and body pay the price. Stress Help Guide
If you are experiencing some of the signs and symptoms of stress, you may want to consider seeking some professional help. Through our Greenshield benefit plan, members and eligible family members may access counselling provided by a registered clinical psychologist or a MSW/RSW counsellor (Master of Social Work/ Registered Social Worker).
Our benefits include: $50 a session up to a maximum of 12 sessions a calendar year (Jan.1 to Dec. 31). If you are presently seeing a psychologist or MSW/RSW and not sure whether they are one of our Greenshield providers, contact either Alex or myself (Donna) and we will find out for you.
