C.L.C. Disaffiliation information Meeting

As you are well aware our Union has been involved in quite of tug and war between activists on social media about our disaffiliation to the Canadian Labour Congress, all creating a great deal of confusion with our members.

To that end, Ontario Regional Director, Naureen Rizvi, along with ORC Regional Executive Board, Regional Standing Committee members and National Executive Board members will be making themselves available to address the Local Leadership and members on the issue.

Our Union’s issue is at the level of the CLC. Our concerns have been well documented and we continue to work to try sort those out with the CLC. Only when it can be demonstrated to our elected rank and file National Executive Board, that the rights of workers to belong to a Union of their choosing and autonomy for Canadian workers is worth more than the paper it is written on in the CLC Constitution will we ever consider returning.

We are encouraging all Area Locals to maximize participation to the fullest by opening this up to all members who want to attend. We need a massive out reach. This meeting should last about 2 hours, a light lunch will be served.
