GM CHAIR UPDATE

September 5, 2021

On Thursday, the Company informed the Union of their planned production schedule for the next few weeks.

The Company is still working through the Semiconductor shortage on a week to week basis trying to manage and prioritize their North American operations. As a result, some of our Customers are taking more time out of their schedules. Even though V6 returns to work next week (Sept 7th) Lansing Delta (V6) and Cami (GF6) are scheduled to take more time out of their operations.

For us,

  • HFV6 will return to full production the week of September 7th followed by 3 weeks of layoff.
  • HFV6 will be laid off the weeks of September 13th, 20th and 27th.
  • The GF6 area will have their layoff extended 2 more weeks through the week of September 27th. The maintenance crew that is working now in Machining will continue to do so until further notice.
  • V8 will return to full production next week as expected. The first phase of the Piston Stuffer Project in assembly should be complete by the end of next week with the 2nd phase beginning on the 13th.

For those returning to work Tuesday, below is a reminder of the shift time changes starting next week.

If you have questions or concerns that are specific to your personal situation please reach out to your Union Shops for the best information.
