BENEFITS REPORT – April, 2021

Adding Dependents and Beneficiaries

Login to www.gmcanadabenefits.com to set up your GM Benefits Centre account, Make or update your Password and phone pin on the website. You will need the last four digits of your social insurance number (SIN) when setting up your account on the website.

Adding Beneficiaries Update your Insurance Beneficiaries at the GM Benefits Centre. This can be done online, by calling the Benefits Centre (877-442-4625) or contacting your Benefits Representative. The full name and date of birth of the Beneficiaries are required.

Adding Dependents Add dependents onto your Health Care. This can be done online, by calling the Benefits Centre (877-442-4625) or contacting your Benefits Representative. The full name and date of birth of the dependents are required.

New hires need to complete their Health Care Enrollment paperwork that was sent from the GM Benefits Centre. This was not done when you signed papers at the time of being hired. Call your Rep with any questions. After this has been completed you can add your dependents.

Newborn children can be added to your Health Care. This can be done online, by calling the Benefits Centre (877-442-4625) or contacting your Benefits Representative. The full name and date of birth are required. Newborn coverage is effective back dated to the date of birth if added within 6 weeks of birth.

When making any changes to your GM Benefits Centre Account the changes are effective as of the 1st of the following month with the exception of a newborn child.

For a full breakdown on medical coverages, Check our Unifor 199 website (www.unifor199.org). Choose “GM UNIT” and click “Benefits”. However, the most effective way to have your benefits questions answered is to simply ask Lawrence or Erika directly. Your health benefits are important to you and your family. Your Union reps are here to assist. Let us help you.
