The Executive Board of Unifor Local 199 would like to invite all of our members and their families to celebrate Labour Day 2017. You are invited to walk in the Merritton Labour Day parade and come back to the Union hall for a BBQ & live entertainment.
In the parade we have a Unifor float, we have a band who will be playing on our float and we will be featuring new cars from the dealerships we represent. We have also made arrangements for a city bus for our retirees and for those who can’t walk so they can participate in the parade. The bus will pick members up at the Union Hall at 10 am, drive to the Pen Centre, drive in the parade and then return to the Union Hall. ( They will not go back to the Pen Centre after the parade) You must register for bus transportation by contacting the Union Hall at 905-682-2611. The parade starts at 11:00 am at the Pen Centre and winds up at the Merritton Lion’s Park. Members of Unifor Local 199 who would like to walk in the parade should meet us at the Pen Centre parking lot @ 10:30 am. Members who participate in the parade will receive a FREE Unifor T Shirt. T shirts will be for general sale after the parade for $15. Retiree t-shirts are available through the Retirees Chapter.
After the parade, please join us for an afternoon of fun for all ages at our Unifor 199 Union Hall. We will have inflatables and ice cream for the kids, a BBQ where hot dogs and hamburgers can be purchased. Live band on the patio from 1-5pm. You are welcome to bring your own lawn chair! You can also cool off in the Unifor lounge where a cash bar will be open. We will also be selling raffle tickets where you have an opportunity to win prizes which include an Apple iwatch.
