The Young Workers Committee are excited to announce we have made our first community partnership with RAFT. In todays society we have an increasing number of young people struggling to get by, some are homeless others looking for work some are simply looking for a safe and nurturing environment. The RAFT operates services throughout Niagara, all under a common vision of providing youth with the resources and tools they need to lead independent and healthy lives. They provide both preventative and reactive services to best suit the needs of the youth. For youth who have run out of options and have no other place to go they offer shelter. The Hostel meets the immediate needs and provides resources to set youth on a new path towards independence and self-sufficiency. They offer youth in our community valuable services needed to survive and develop the skills they need to lead a successful life.

After visiting the hostel we asked if they needed our help and support.  Many of the kids that come in for help only have the clothes they are wearing, and have no personal care items.  They are in desperate need of clothes.  We are sure many of our members have lots of good quality clothes suitable for youth to wear that they no longer need, T shirts, jeans sweatshirt and jackets. We are asking for you to drop off items, they mist be in good condition, clean and suitable for teenagers to wear .  Cash donations are also welcome. Please contact Jake or Melodie if you can help
