Communications Committee

Brothers and Sisters, the Communications Committee is excited to announce that it has secured its first Online Advertising client – FirstOntario Credit Union. This the first year long advertising partner that we have secured, but we aren’t stopping there. For a low fee we are offering advertising on the Local 199 website (www.unifor199.org), linkage to all Facebook platforms, access to the E-News email blast, and physical advertising on boards within the hall and retiree centre.

We are hoping that other Local 199 employers will take a serious look at this unique opportunity. This offer includes access to an award winning website, which has won Best Website at the Canadian Association of Labour Media and Local Union Media Association. With roughly 500 hits on the website a day, a membership of 9000 in Niagara and 300,000 across Canada, the exposure potential is vast. On the site, businesses will be provided a landing page, a monthly post (an article or special offer), and links to businesses website.

As a committee, we are hoping that this small revenue stream will open opportunities to upgrade website design, maintain high levels of communication and continue to build a strong Communications Committee.
