Sisters and Brothers,

It is a great honour and privilege to become the President of Unifor Local 199. I would like to congratulate former President, Greg Brady, on his retirement, effective June 1st, 2021. Over the last six years I have strived to serve the membership in any capacity required of me and will continue to do so in my new role as President.

I would also like to congratulate Mike Winterbottom on his appointment to Vice-President by my predecessor. Mike has served as the Chair of the Small Units and will be an asset in servicing the membership going forward. I look forward to working with him. Together with Financial Secretary Steve McMullen and National Staff Representatives Doug Orr and John Hockey, we will ensure that the membership of Local 199 is serviced effectively and appropriately.

Unionism is about using the collective power of its membership to affect a positive outcome in the workplace. Unionism is also about community involvement and social advocacy. I encourage members to consider joining one of the Local 199 Standing Committees. Each Standing Committee represents a different outlet for your potential engagement.

            These are the Standing Committees:

Community Service

Health and Safety

Human Rights

Union in Politics

Young Workers

If you are interested in joining any of the Standing Committees, please email and I will help you contact the appropriate Committee Liaison.

            Stay healthy and safe.

In Solidarity,

            Jordan Lennox

President, Unifor Local 199
