World Environment Day 2019 – Tree Planting, Wednesday June 11th.

In 2018, GM St. Catharines celebrated World Environment Day by planting trees with the help of DSBN Academy and GM volunteers. The Environmental Department wishes to extend these efforts to the St. Catharines plant to support wildlife habitat initiatives and environmental preservation in cooperation with the Niagara Peninsula Conservation Authority. The clean-up of litter and introduction of trees/shrubs will promote the invitation of aviary species and ecosystem restoration.

  • Join GM St. Catharines in celebrating World Environment Day with a site clean-up and tree planting from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM onsite at our facility.
  • Meeting location: outside the East Clock House.
  • The clean-up will focus on the plant perimeter, McKinnon Park, the meadow and old ballfield.
  • Wear appropriate clothing for the day such as sturdy or steel-toed shoes.
  • Trash bags and gloves will be provided. Please wear your GM Cares t-shirt if you have one!
