Candlelight Walk

ZONTA CLUB OF NIAGARA FALLS CANDLELIGHT WALK SUPPORTING THE 16 DAYS OF ACTIVISM TO END VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN

Niagara Falls, ON, November 24, 2015 – The Zonta Club of Niagara Falls, along with the Zonta Clubs of St. Catharines and Fort Erie, will assemble at Table Rock in Niagara Falls to kick off local participation in the United Nations 16 Days of Activism Against Gender based Violence. Zonta Say No To Violence Against Women is a Zonta International campaign to raise awareness about violence against women and girls around the world and to work toward its end.

2015 marks the 24th year of the UN’s 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence Campaign. Over 5,500 organizations, policymakers, governments, and UN agencies plus countless individuals from more than 180 countries participate. The Zonta Clubs of the Niagara Peninsula are proud to be involved.�

The campaign focuses on cultures of violence, sexism, racism, homophobia and calls for the implementation of human rights obligations, including the right to health and reproductive rights, the end to militarism and gender-based violence, as well as other like-mannered global issues.

Join us at at Table Rock House at 9:30 pm, Tuesday, November 24th, 2015, the eve of this year’s 16 Days of Activism. Meet local Niagara Peninsula Zontians and other women who understand how important this United Nations initiative is.� Receive a bright orange Zonta Says No scarf and walk with us in a candle light vigil at world famous Niagara Falls. Be part of Zonta Says No to Violence Against Women 2015.

At 10:00 pm, Niagara Falls will turn orange for 15 minutes to say the same.
