National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women

The Women’s Committee of Unifor Local 199 have scheduled a self defence course for women on Friday December 6th 2019.

The committee selected this day as it marks the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women and is the 30th anniversary of the tragic events that transpired in Montreal.

We remember the 13 engineering students and one worker who were murdered at I’Ecole Polytechnique de Montreal 30 years ago.

We also commemorate all the missing and murdered Indigenous women, trans women, and all women whose lives have been harmed or lost to gender-based violence.

Please join us on December 6th to remember these women and learn some self defence moves. A light meal will be provided.
