Supporting Families in Niagara – Community Services Committee

$750 Donation to Support Families

On behalf of Local Unifor 199, and the Community Services Committee, it is with honour to announce that this was another successful year of donating for our Christmas Families on our behalf to Community Care.

The plan was to donate and allocate $750 dollars to two families. Due to COVID-19, this year the instruction was to buy gift cards in lieu of physical gifts. A variety of gift cards were bought and presented alongside an individual card for each family. On Monday November 30th, the committee went down to the headquarters in Saint Catharines and there presented Marcy from Community Cares the donation. Numerous thanks were given as things are especially difficult this year for families and the demand and higher more than ever.

Community Cares is a charity organization in Saint Catharines who celebrated  their 100th anniversary last year . They are focused on providing food, clothing, shelter, and support to those in need in our local community. Every Christmas, they organize for numerous families to be given the chance to make a special Christmas with a wonderful Christmas meal, and toys for children.

On behalf of the Committee, we all wish you a wonderful holiday’s and happy New Year.
