Last week Greg Brady and myself joined locked out members Local 1999 at Reliance Home Comfort in St Catharines. This lockout shows the importance of our government passing anti-scab legislation in Ontario and also federally, for federal institutions. One of the issues they are fighting are negotiated sick days. While the Ford government have 3 days paid because of this pandemic, this expires in September.
For any members who would like to visit the lock out picket line they are located at 113 Cushman Rd, St Catharines and show Local 1999 we support them while they stand against this greedy employer.
If you have some time during the weekdays, join them (wear a mask), and tell the offshore ownership of the biggest heating and cooling company in Canada, that Canadian workers to be respected and deserve a fair collective agreement.
In Solidarity,
Steve McMullen
