STANDING COMMITTEE ELECTIONS

Unifor Local 199 has scheduled an election for our Standing Committees. Each Committee has three (3) to be elected, the term is for three years. 2019-2022. Members can stand for two (2) of the following nine (9) committees:

Community Services
Education
Environment
Human Rights, Aboriginal and Racialized Workers
LGBT
Recreation
Union in Politics (UPC)
Women’s Committee
Young Workers

All members in good standing from ALL UNITS (including retirees) may run and vote for the above positions.

Nomination box will open at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 26, 2019 and will close at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 3rd, 2019.

Nomination forms are available at the UNIFOR. Union Hall, 124 Bunting Road, St. Catharines, between 9:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

Advance Vote, If necessary an advance vote will be on October 9, 2019 from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. upstairs at the Union hall.

A hall vote will take place on Wednesday, October 16, 2019. (which is the same date as the monthly General Membership meeting and Retirees meeting). Actual voting time will be on the Notice of Election to follow.

Anyone elected to a position must attend at least two (2) General Membership Meetings in a three (3) month period, or will be removed from office pursuant to local union bylaws.
