Nobody said you have to change the world, but as long as you spend your life trying, there is no better feeling than that”
Len Harrison

Today I received sad news that long time member of Local 199 Len Harrison passed away.  Len was a real character, he was quick with a smile and always had a funny story to tell.  He was a creative union activist that used his imagination and creative instincts to develop street plays and campaigns to get his point across. He once made 10,000 Kim Campbell soup cans and helped to  distributed them across the province, one still sits on the shelve in my office. He organized and ran in a marathon of despair  form St Catharines to Ottawa to protest high interest rates.  I had the pleasure of interviewing Len with Jessy Aubertin a Brock university labour studies Student back in 2011.  The article can be seen at the following Link Len Harrison Article   there is also a series of pictures on our flickr page  Images of Len Harrison

Rest in peace Len, you will be missed, but the flame you started still burns brightly in those you inspired to get involved.

Concordances to the Harrison Family, I know your love and support was very important to him
