I would like to take the opportunity to thank the membership of Local 199 for their generosity to help those in need in our community. This year through your generous donations have assisted programs all around the Niagara Peninsula. For example the plant gate collection  at GM combined with the Social Justice Fund raised over$9,000, these donations assisted three organizations which are Project Share in Niagara Falls, the Hope Centre in Welland and Community Care in St. Catharines.

In addition, YWCA and West Niagara Second Stage Housing both received cheques for $2,000 from the Unifor Women’s Committee. In November the Tooney Tuesday collection raised $2,525 and the donation went to aid the Native Centre in Fort Erie, Women’s Place, Gillian’s Place  and the Hope Centre in Welland. This year our NEW Young Workers Committee made a cash donation to RAFT and held a clothing drive for teenagers in St.Catharines. Our memebrs at FirstOntario Credit Union helped to raise $2,000 which went to RAFT and Community Care.

Local 199 is very proud of ALL our Members and their community spirit… your generosity helps families in need every day of the year. Images of Cheque Presentations
